  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Intermittent Pattern Noise...

I don't think I see it, but it's just one frame so hard to tell whether motion calls more attention to whatever you are seeing or not.

Thanks for looking at it for me Michael. It's showing up in the still and motion mode in playback, but I just exported the motion file, and it isn't visible in the export file. I'm not sure it's a cam issue at this point. Monitor maybe? Will keep digging.

I had a look.

Are you talking about the red orb on the guy on the left?

That looks like a flare. The flare can show up depending on your aperture and the way the light bounces from the OLPF back onto the back of the lens. Depending on which Canon lens you were using and the aperture, if it is say 11, 16 or 22 you might see this kind of thing.

Hi David,

No, it's not the flare, though that is where the noise pattern I'm talking about showed up most prominently. (In the flare, on his back) I was using a Schneider Cine Xenar III, 35mm on that shot. Embarrassing as it is, it turns out that it's a monitor issue on my end. The minute I rescaled the image, the pattern disappeared. So while I'm relieved that it isn't the footage, it's clearly time for a monitor upgrade. Thanks for checking it out for me though. I read all of your and Michael's stuff on here and it's crazy (to me) what a resource this community is for someone like myself. Thanks again.
