Hi Guys,

What BNC are you guys using to connect the Hyperedeck to Scarlet? I bought 2 of these from B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...ories_PA_BNC_F_DIN_1FH_BNC_FEMALE_to_DIN.html. only to realise I must have bought the wrong cable. The DIN 1.0/2.3 connectors to the Hyperdeck are fine but the other end does not fit my Scarlet.I'm now assuming that the camera end should be MALE and not FEMALE correct?

Any help appreciated thanks.....

I'm using this one:

Thanks Guys,

I ended up using a BNC Male Coupler which done the trick in the end.
As far as D-Tap goes,I ordered the cable from SmallHD that is used to power the DP6 as I believe it works so I will post when it arrives.
Another quite frustrating thing is the SSD's.I bought one of these http://m.bhphotovideo.com/mobile/de...GB+HyperX+3K+2.5"+(6.35+cm)+Solid+State+Drive and when I tested Uncompressed last night it dropped frames all over the place in playback in QT.Its not the exact card that BM recommended (my mistake) but the only difference apparently in the one they do is life span cycle and not the specs .I thought the card was fine as BM say if the card ain't fast enough for uncompressed the record button on the Hyperdeck will flash but it didn't after a 10 minute record test. I don't think my iMac is the problem either as I have edited 10bit UC before and should well be able to handle it.

Any thoughts....

Maybe use the SSDs spec'd for the Sound Devices PIX recorders?? I think the one I bought (a year ago) is a Samsung and it has never missed a beat.
Sound Devices posts the vetted SSD models on their site (doesn't BlackMagic do the same??).

Yep they have a spec sheet stating which SSD is compliant with the Hyperdeck2.

Hi John,

I use the exact same set up myself.Do you find it better to plug the SmallHD cable into the GMP battery or the Switronix plate or does it make any difference?

Thanks....

John-
I've never used GMP batteries, but I would suggest using the D tap into the Switronix battery plate. If for no other reason, you won't have to replug the cable every time you switch batteries - that's a good thing, because D-Tap connectors are best treated nicely. Unplugging and replugging four or five times a day isn't great for them.

Wasn't there some discussion of Dtap straight to the Hyperdeck being a power risk? Most plates list their Dtaps as unregulated, is this actually a risk to a HS or monitor? If it is, what's the use of having Dtaps out on these plates?
