Thought you folks might interested in the post process we used on our new feature film Operation Avalanche.

The look is emulating archival 16mm film from the 1960s.

Originated on RED (and some BMPCC), then graded, printed to 16mm and re-scanned. Images and examples included in the article.

When I read the thread title, I instantly thought of the Mitchell & Webb skit:

Thanks for the sharing the write-up of your interview. Super Cool and Awesome Work!

I couldn't tell from the write-up, but it sounded like a dirty telecine w/ a bolex exposing for one image at a time.
Was that a DIY process? as in manually quickly tapping the "run" button on the front of the bolex each time for each frame?

Also, what house handled the film-out, or did you do this process yourselves as well?

I previously considered doing a DAD process similar to this for different reasons (digital > analogue > digital)

Seeing how well it turn out for OA, I'll definitely reconsider that post treatment process (and try to check out AO in the theater)
