Hello everybody,

I see this:

and I question me: How can I calculate Scarlet datarate?

Anybody know?

So the max datarate in any scenario tops out at 55MB/s??? Will there ever be a likelyhood of a scarlet CF module? Given 64gb sandisk cards rated to 90MB/s are now only $250. It's kind of funny selling a brain for $9k but the media required for any reasonable shoot amounts easily to $5k or more...and there's only one place you can get it...half way around the world ( for many )

there's been a lot of talk about media since the early days, so most people don't know it's kind of a soft spot. but just keep that in mind when you start questioning it. rest assured that red has both the customer and their reputation in mind. also rest assured those sandisk cards do not reliably read/write @ 90MB/s over any considerable amount of time. off the shelf media does not cut it for these cameras, only the cream of the crop. yes, the media is expensive - but it's really not all things considered, we're not getting ripped off by any stretch.

Problem is you can find 64GB CF cards... but good luck finding a 128GB or 256GB card that's consistently 50MBs.

EDIT: Correction, Sandisk has a 128GB CF Card... but it costs $500 more than RED's 128GB offering.
