HLG HDR in DaVinci Resolve

I’ve been mastering Rec.2020 ST2084 of Red Komodo footage in Resolve on my Mac for years but can’t seem to get HLG HDR to work. My exports are a lot brighter than what’s seen in Resolve’s viewer. I’ve tried both RCM and REDCINE X CST LUTs to no avail. Help please!

Hey Jon,

First , let me just say that you would probably know more about delivering HDR content from a Mac than I ever will, But I will attempt to try to help you. Hopefully someone whom is also Delivering HLG HDR Content from a Mac will chime in as well.

1) In the "Project settings" in the "COLOR MANAGEMENT" tab then under "LOOKUP TABLE" and "COLOR VIEWER LOOKUP TABLE" what setting do you have? If you haven't already change it from "USE VIDEO MONITORING SELECTION" to "NO LUT SELECTED". This way no Lut is affecting what should be a clean feed or something like that.

2) What are your Color Management settings? How are you grading the images?

Thanks Rand, I just tried that. No luck. I've tried RCM, node-based, you name it! These were my most recent settings on the color management page. I used a CST from REDCINE X, REDWideGamutRGB/Log3G10 to Rec.2020 HLG HDR for the node-based color mgmt one.

I never was able to figure out what the problem was, so I've begun grading in PQ and delivering in Dolby Vision Profile 8.4. which shows up as HLG on platforms like YT that don't support DV.
