I just did some color corrections and trimmed various R3D files within Redcine v.20
Great, now i want to send them to my stock house....so i transfered all of the referenced R3D files to a portable drive. I also copied the .RCN file from it's original location on my MacPro...to the same hard drive-- I know that this .RCN file points to R3D files on my MacPro, but i'm assuming it will ask me Where are those files and i can point it when the stock house opens the file? ---BUT no it wont.
So, can anyone shed some light on how i would do this? The ultimate goal for me here is that I do the color correction, selects, in/out points and send it to them and they do the final color grading and output to ProRes 422 from the original R3D files. My machine is just WAY to slow to do that.
So i have completed the selects and such and transfered all files and the rcn file to my portable drive, but when going to the project setting in redcine and i go to: project - new to clear the board, then open and try to open my rcn file within my portable drive (that i know was setup originally on my other system), and it just gives me blue frames--it will not ask me where those files are as i expected and i thought i would just point it to the portable drive where the r3d files are now.
Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong here ?
Thanks...
**or another workflow? I can still access my files via my RCN file and then possibly output another way. but can not do any conversions to pro-res because it will take me days.
