In anticipation of getting the Scarlet, I have been trying to test how R3D files will work from R3D files I have downloaded here at reduser, and other sites. I have installed the RED Final Cut Studio plug-ins, several times in fact, and the log & transfer of Final Cut Pro (Final Cut Pro v7.0.3) won't read/open. It says " contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media."

I am running a Mac Pro 8 core, and same thing is happening on my macbook Pro. Have I missed a step? The files open and run in Red Cine-X, but not final cut. What am I doing wrong here?

In the case of Scarlet, you don't. FCP worked for RED One R3D files - it won't for Epic or Scarlet. FCP is dead, it's time to bury your old friend and move on.
