Has anyone else's RED One MX got a faulty dial?

Hi all,

The dial on my RED One MX is starting to get a bit temperamental. When I move it from right to left, or up and down, it registers perfectly. However, when I twist it to change the ISO for example, the resulting action isn't accurate at all. For example, I was twisting the dial to up the ISO but the values read out on the UI kept jumping about, going from 320 to 800 to 100 again. it wasn't linear at all. Has anyone else had this issue?

That thing was loaded from issues from the get-go. The knob feel off half of them (including ours). I definitely remember ours being "non-linear".

yes, I have same issue were you able to fix it?

I remember the little knob getting loose over time. I was able to solve mine by removing the knob and applying LOCTITE glue to the inside the knob and then reinstalling it in place on the back of the R1 and tightening thr hex screw.

Was never a problem after that (probably a little over 10years ago) and I still do some filming with that RED One MX as recent as a month ago.

Hello Brian, i hope you are well. Please how did you remove the knob, do i need to tear camera apart to get the knob.

Hey Prime Leon,

I believe there is set screw on the knob that can be loosened with a small Allen key that would allow you to adjust the knob and tighten back in place.

I’m out of town at the moment and away from my R1 but pretty sure that is the case.
