Dear reducers,
I want to know what is the best practice to utilize the RAW power of the R3D files in compositing Green Screen footage.

For corporate work we just drop the r3d directly into after effects (which is connected to cinema4d), and you can basically just follow lynda.com tutorials - it just works.

I've interviewed a lot of people that do the A list movies (I'm doing my first feature, so take this for what it's worth), but I have not found a perfect DI process for sfx&vfx pipelines. What I do is a 4k DI in openexr (zips 16 bit) which feeds the following sfx&vfx pipelines: syntheyes for camera solves, maya for textures & modeling, maxwell for hdrx lighting, nukex for compositing/roto work.
