  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Getting a dolly solid and steady - Give me your tips

Don't know if this is helpful or not, but using a schedule 80 aluminum pipe will be much more rigid than a schedule 40 pipe over the same span.

Thanks David.

I happened to have some portable screw-together rail which is much wider and thicker than what I'd been using previously and when testing with that there is definitely an increase in rigidity. Off the back of that I'm definitely going to get some wider pipe.

Each one of these elements seems to be giving me a degree of improvement. It's cetainly a lot more useable today than it was a week ago!

What are people's thoughts on square rails? Better than circular?

Don't mean to hijack the OP here, but since it's on the topic...

For those who have used both, what would you recommend between the Dana Dolly and Kessler Shuttle Dolly? Looking at picking up one and both are around the same price point. I looked at the rigwheels option but after reading this, not sure if it's worth looking into further. Usual weight of rig between 7-10lbs.
