Is Redgamma 4 and Dragon Color the latest and most commonly recommended meta data settings for Epic Dragon?

I'm using RedGamma 3 (as 4 is to crushed for me) and DragonColor2. You could also start with the log space if you are grading.

It depends on your software. Davinci Resolve supported DragonColor2 less than a month after it was released by RED. Premiere Pro still doesn't support DragonColor2, though they have really nice video footage showing that their next release will support it. But nobody can use a video mock-up to do actual coloring work.

I find that for monitoring Dragon Color 2 and RedGamma 4 can be nice, it's easy to spot problems with the higher saturation and contrast

For grading, if it's a simple grade DragonColor and RedGamma2 are are a great starting place. Switch to RedLogFilm if you need to pull more out from the data or use LUTs.

DragonColor 2 will see highly saturated colors clip into a dark, saturated shade of the color, while dragon color 1 will clip them to white, essentially the complete opposite. I also feel DragonColor 2 clips the saturation faster but I might be wrong. RedGamma 4 is not the best curve for most things so I tend not to use it.

I have it down to DC2 and RG4 in camera for a nice simulated picutre.

As soon as I move to grading it is

DC2 RLF

or

DC1 for shots that really push the color barrier.

I find this really tells me where the shots are at while allowing the widest DR before applying a curve and setting the white and black points for the images.
