I really like the filtering ability RED added recently. Makes me always log in.

I have noticed now a bunch of threads which have little to do with actually "using" a red camera.

(i.e. to me, and i could be totally wrong, but i think reduser would be a lot stronger forum, and we can
get a bunch of the people that are red users but avoid reduser, if reduser was focused on actually using
RED products)

my two cents is if the thread isn't about using RED camera's, it should be agresively moved to "off topic" by the moderators (and I btw will have off topic filtered).

I personally don't want to see any of the "VS" threads or business poles, to me those should go into "off topic".

As an example of a forum I really like is the gearslutz post forum ( and the remote recording forum is great, also high end forum). Basically the second some thread is not being helpful to the working people in that group (and there are a lot of full time professionals in those groups), the thread is moved. I also think the distribution of people in groups like post in gearslutz is good, in that it's a mix part time, full time, major and minor league guys, and people learning.

Anyway, I have always been cool with moderators deleting my posts and/or moving things, I am clueless half the time, so just feel the mods should have the ability to just move stuff to off topic where it can be basically ignored by people that are focused on using red products.

Also please delete all camera sales threads where they are not stating that they are requiring the purchaser to use the RED "transfer of ownership" process. I mean the transfer of ownership process was done for valid concerns, and if it's a red site, that process should be used . If people want to sell/buy in some hacky way ... let them go to other sites rather then waste bandwidth on reduser & the accompanying transaction gone bad threads. Having incompetent sellers and scammers on RED just waste the moderators time and hurts the reduser forums rep.
