Hey everyone -

I've started running into an issue where everything sounds perfect on the Weapon - levels are just a dB or two before clipping, but then when I bring everything in to FCPX, the audio is showing between -15 to -20. I know this isn't a FCPX issue because the other things I edit from C100, H4/H6 recorders, and Blackmagic hit where they're supposed to.

Has anyone else run into this? I really, really don't want to put gain on this stuff, but I'm guessing I have to now -_-

Yes they will be low. Its easy enough to boost the levels in post provided you have clean audio recorded to the camera. Using the builtin pre-amps on the camera will result in very noisy audio.

I had a loaner CF Weapon last week and the audio was waaaayyyy lower than my EW and SW

Scratch audio or did you have a line in on your v-lock?

Direct line in to the v-lock :/

Ok, good to know about the pre-amps! I hadn't caught this before, only the random popping. I think I'll just record separately from now on.
