Has anyone figured out this problem where Red Cine freezes a clip on export and then all the rest of the exports are frozen on the same frame?

The workaround of putting it all into separate folders doesn't work, turning off the airport as one suggested on another thread did not work. It just keeps doing it. I try and change the range that it is to export and it still doesn't work.

Can anyone help? How on earth am I supposed to get this 4K 16:9 footage edited???

And I know all about how Red Cine is Beta - but is there a way to do this that actually works?

David

Hey David,

I've been having the same problems with 16:9 footage.

The best way I've found (after a lot of trial and error) is to export separate files as dpx sequences. I then brought these into AE, color graded, then reexported them as pro res files.

This won't for everyone, and it takes an extremely long time, but that's all that has seemed to work for me.

Thank you. Goodness, what a lovely workflow! Almost make one want to sing.

Happens to me the past two weeks which is strange because for months I never had this happen to me once and now all of a sudden...

Anyways I have somehow gotten it to stop freezing just by quitting RedCine quitting all programs trashing the RedCine folder in the Library folder going back into redcine and making a new project and then opening the project I was working on and changing the resolution around a few times, maybe changed a few other things around back and forth before going to export again and then it seems to work. haha! I never know what to do but my intuition to just give the program a little kick in the ass seems to shake the kinks out temporarily and I can export without freezing.

I'm hoping with Build 16 the new RedCine will be more stable along with supporting all the new stuff in the Build.

I've been using BUild 16 for a while and no improvement even with 2K files that I am not resizing. Any clip or series of clips over about 20 seconds freezes. I have to do them one clip at a time while listening to my hard drive clicking as each frame is rendered when it speeds up to a more rapid rate I know it has frozen. How's that for a work around? Yeah it stinks.
