I have a V-lock expander on its way back from an RMA with Red. Its audio has frequent clicks and pops that make it unusable for any professional setting and, according to the RMA guys, it's a known issue. The problem, they say, is limited to the V-lock and base expanders. My rep says a fix is in the works. How is audio quality on the Redvolt expander and its phantom-equipped XLR inputs? I can't seem to find anyone recording sound to it..

I've been meaning to RMA my V-Lock IO but I just haven't had the time. I can confirm that it's a ground loop. When I'm running on battery power the audio quality is on par with DSMC1. Feed it a HOT signal and it sounds fine. When plugged into AC power, the ticking is awful. I think my solution is just to buy a Sound Devices recorder and call it a day. The new Mix-Pre series looks dope.

for run and gun work and the audio is great with it but not very elegant, still not found a good way to mount it.
I sent back the wooden camera A box as its pointless with the internal quality of the pre amps

or the tentacles syncs which are great wit duel setups

Good news! Hope they'll fix this soon. I do not use my Weapon as much as I'd want to because of this clicking sound. I'll rather use the old DSMC 1 when I'm in a rush and need sound on the recording..
