  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I just busted this out real quick. Milvus lens, Nikon Mount, Firecrest ND on one part, RWG/LG31 with rwg-LG3110 to rec709-bt1886 w/ no contrast roll off 1 size 33 v1.1 loaded via color finale, exported to h.264

this wasn't scientific super basic, I don't own color charts or know how to use them so I figured the next best thing to cover color and skin was some tattoo shots. I only spent about 30 minutes total from shooting to editing so take it for what it's worth. Oh if someone can embed it for some reason it's not working for me

Epic W seems very green - but it does shine with better detail than Gemini. You can really tell the density of the image at 8K vs 5k. Tough choices!
 
Can you dial out the green with a white balance on helium?

yep, honestly its not so bad, gets worse at 60fps 60 project, small color correction fixes it right up, I usually shoot everything at 5600 and deal with it later to be honest, usually the more under exposed it is the more green, the gemini doesn't have this at all from what I have edited so far, also I think it was discussed somewhere in the Gemini announcement thread something about the Gemini not having the same greenish tint

BTW the helium 1600 is super green, is your blackshade auto or manual?

And also, saw your other test entitled "geminni test 2".. could you share some 2 seconds R3D trim from the shot @ ~23sec ?

hey dude, I probably would have changed the wb at 1600 but I just wanted to leave things alone. I have no issues with greens in post btw, you just get used to adjusting just like any other camera, they all have their quirks. Email me about the r3d info@colorroomfilms.com

I just asked because I had some problems with this green bias on Helium, but with manual blackshade it is pretty much controlled (though still more green than other cameras).
