After seeing the CNC machined aluminum Spike chasis, I started to wonder about the environmental seals. I know the camera body is only as elements proof as the lens mount. However, I still want to know if the Red team has taken that into account in the R/D process. It would be idea that all of the body seams, button holes and control dials have environmental seals built in to fend off water, dust and such.

You can't forget about the connectors either.

They could prove me wrong, but I think the best you could ever hope for would be mist proof (or resistant). Personally, even with just a slight mist, I would want a cover of some sort.

Covers for the connectors are 100% necessary, preferably in a design that keeps them attached to the body with a tab. I have lost the covers from XLR ports on the HVX at least 3 times.

What XLR covers for the HVX? You mean the little plastic jobies? I thought that was just packaging...

I agree that having them conected with little tabs is pretty important.
