While we havn't recieved our red drives yet, we rented one for a shoot yesterday. It was a standard Greenscreen shoot with 1 channel of audio being used. On the set when using the red raid we were constantly getting the Audio Fault error when trying to playback clips (shooting 4K Redcod 36 at 23.976fps). On set we tested out the clips on a laptop opening in Premiere CS4 and all of the audio fault clips played back fine. We started using 8GB cards and did not have a single issue. The other thing I noticed is that quite a few of the folders on the red drive contained multilple versions of that same R3D file, meaning that it would be the same clip duplicated and separated by a numerical value 001, 002, 003 etc. We are using Build 17, our camera is #4936 so I'm assuming we have the updated audio board?
If anyone has any insight into avoiding these issues it would be much appreciated.

We got the same audio fault error today on a shoot, and I'd also like to know what it's all about.

Regarding the duplicated clips, I don't think they are, the RED One truncate clips at the 2GB mark. So they are actually one clip separated into subclips. If you play the proxies or if you play them into RED Alert, they will play like one single continuous clip.

Thanks for the tip on the split clips, didn't realize Premiere CS4 treated the clips the same way. Basically you pull any of the clips into the project and it will play it as if it were one clip. This is the first time we have shot with such long takes, so it is my first time experiencing the split clips.
On the audio fault side, while it all seems to work out in the end, it is a little disheartening to be on set and have any kind of error come up in your footage. Plus the fact that you can't review the take at all on the camera doesn't help the situation.
I have seen this topic come up before, but I have never really seen a straight answer on how to solve it.
