Going to buy one of them, just curious about which you all prefer for non shoulder rig handheld work, I'm pretty torn between the two.

Sure there are as many opinions as redusers:) But I love the outrigger handle for three reasons. I can bolt another handle on the other side and have good stability. The outrigger puts your index finger in reach of the sidekick so you can access menu stuff on the fly without using the touchscreen, and the touch monitor can fold flat as there is no handle in the way to stow it.

I'm wondering about having a DSMC2 Side Handle on the right and an Outrigger on the left. Does anyone know if this is possible mounting wise? No shoulder rig for me either just biceps!

this is my recent setup
Dual outrigger + top handle on a nato rail (just got a wooden handle w/ trigger mounted on a rosette on the right side)
The chest pad is nice sometimes, but the top handle mounted that way gives me a nice point of contact on the chest or hip, find it much easier to stabilize with it.

i love the outrigger personally and so did my AC's when in studio mode because they rig all sorts of things on top of the camera, video transmitter, ultrlite arm with onboard, etc. i have a shoulder rig, but on my last shoot when i needed a quick handheld shot id just grab it and go with the outrigger.
if i was hand holding all day id obviously have a shoulder mount, but that is rare anyway for me.
AND offhollywood is making me a half top plate, so i can have the outrigger attached to the body as well as the monitor. as soon as i get it all post pictures :)
