DSMC1 IPP2 proxy workflow question (premiere)

Hey guys,

Question:

The MX doesn't record IPP2 internally, but the footage can be converted in post.

Does anyone know if it's possible to automate the process of turning all the footage into IPP2 and then ingesting it as a proxy. As it stands the proxies are ingested in the legacy colour profile and i'd like to do a preliminary grade on the ipp2 proxies.

Also, anyone have any killer tips for working with ipp2?

Easiest way I can think of is to convert in RCX quickly via a preset you make with your IPP2 settings, save that to the R3D, open Premiere and then continue on as normal. I haven't tested that before but from how I use my footage currently, this **should** work.

I'm pretty sure you can still do RWG/LG310 in camera... and you can also use a .rmd as a "LUT" in camera too (as your display path "LUT", so you aren't looking at a log image on set/in camera)...

Might be worth trying to do it that way, as all the footage would then be ingested as (and make proxies by using) that "IPP2 lite" image.
