  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DRAGON: Florence, Italy

Haha.

Thanks Mark, too kind. Next round, next challenge, one dragon, one light panel mini, one model.

Bounced over from another thread , thanks for the reply.

Low light shots are solid .

So given most look available light did you expose "to the right" as far as conditions allowed then raise the ISO to bring the exposure up to optimum ?

The reason........ does this highlight a key difference between MX & dragon in low light?

Well,

first, I did use fast glass. No extra lighting was used. I had the camera set to 320iso, 5000k 172.8 degree shutter.

When end I open up in redcine, I immediately change the clips to dragon color 4 (which I have set in camera on the beta build) and redline film. From there I add an a curve and adjust the ISO to taste for the shot.

I find the dragon is cleaner in log than MX the texture is more pleasing. It's a creamier image to start with with more fine detail than MX which seemed to be doing all kinds of compensating in the RGB channels to keep things looking "ok".

with dragon, it's more like you have a bit more room to push (on the shots with a bit better exposure) and you have the choice of punchy blacks or a more lo-FI look with no real compromises. On MX, you'd tend to crush out the blacks a bit more.

Compared to the original m sensor (leaps and bounds, like an exponential massive improvement and that was a hell of a sensor)

hope this helps,
