Well, Not exactly...It's worth more!

The 1lb. decrease in weight-very valuable, vs. the price differential, ignoring taxes, etc.:

Dragon CF - $50,000
Dragon AL - $29,000
$21,000

Whilst, 1 US pound (lb.) = 14.5833333 troy ounces

spot price of 1 troy ounce of gold on 10, September, 2013 is currently US dollars $1364.00 per troy ounce.
Multiply that times 14.5833333 equals: $19,891,67 dollars (rounded off to the nearest cent).

So...$21K (C) vs $19,892K (Au++)...

I guess another way to look at it is, the cost of carbon fiber has increased.

In the right hands and, under the right circumstances, one or the other is the right investment. OTOH, covering both options hedges one's bets...;-)

Thank you very much

Am I missing something. I get about $79548.48 per 4lb camera... oh I get it just the one pound..

So carbon Dragon is not only lighter in the hand than a Gold Dragon...but a lot lighter on the pocket book.
Now that would be supper cool a golden Dragon Epic... I bet there is one already somewhere in the world. I wonder if it has a gold PL mount..:sarcasm:

Jarred probably gave one to his wife as an anniversary present, encrusted with pink diamonds, blue sapphires, and RED rubies. Come to think of it, why hasn't RED made anything called RED RUBY? Surely they could apply that name to something.
