I've been trying to explore a RED/Avid/Flame workflow...
I can't find a way to output DPX from RedCine with source timecode header.
I can see the source TC in the Redcine player, but when I start outputing, it starts from 0:00:00:00 ... Only using Quicktime-output was I able to correctly render with source timecode.

I tried using RedRushes to output DPX files and they included the correct TC, but I must figure out a way to do it with Redcine.

Any ideas?

*** Using RedCine 3.1.8

UPDATE: I tried to output using RedCine 3.1.2 and it successfully included the source timecode. At this point, I believe it is a bug in Redcine 3.1.8.

I too have discovered a problem with dpx files and redcine 3.18. When I import the dpx files into smoke the "tape name" reel name is only 4 digits long. eg A004. Redcine v3.12 puts out the complete reel id into the dpx file. eg A004_C001_ABCDE etc... This is causing major workflow problems for us as we go through the FCP/Crimson/Redcine pipe. By the way for anyone interested, Redcine fails on construct with Crimson sunfish xml output. Use Crimson riptide with Redcine 3.18. but as I mentioned the output reel does not match the fcp xml.

Redcine DPX doesn't have TC

Redcine DPX doesn't have TC

I'm having the same problem with Redcine DPXs not having Timecode. Redline works, but I prefer to use Redcine so each shot can be visually checked before the online. Is there something I'm missing?

I was having the very same issue today w/Smoke 2010. What I found by much trial and error is that apparently, when bringing DPX sequences rendered out of REDCINE 3.1.8 into the Smoke, you now need to choose "File Name Timecode" under Clip Metadata rather than "File Header Timecode"...Although "File Header Timecode" still works when importing DPX sequences generated using Crimson/Redline. .. Go figure.
