As some of you know, I DP'd a feature recently "Second Coming of Christ" (will be out in theaters next Spring), and I wanted to give you guys an inside look at some of the scenes and how I lit them with some lighting diagrams.

It's a very simple PDF and no where near the quality that fellow RU's like Phil and Matt produce, but I thought I would give it a shot.

How big was your G&E crew and how many set ups did you have in all?

We had the lead key gaffer and 1 grip who were experienced. Other people would somewhat help setup, but it was VERY limited. The entire crew was less than 15.

Cool, how many set ups would you say you had in the 14 days?

A LOT! Lots of locations and setups. The biggest problem was lack of shooting time, only having 14 days to get through 100 pages of script. No storyboards, just the script to go off of. So we had to be quick on our feet, figure out how we wanted it to look, and setup as quickly as possible. Nothing could really be pre-lit either, since we were limited on lighting gear. Still, with all that being said, I think we got some great imagery and if the visual effects turn out well, I think it will be a decent film.
