So we did the best we could with what we had available, we focused on what we thought would give us problems...

everything was done with the camera set to 5k FF. most of these cover in 5k 2.40:1 (when i have more time i will go back and go through again and confirm the 2.40:1) and the 5K 2:1 covers slightly more than the FF, i.e has less problems than the FF. (again I'll do this again soon to follow up with the 5k 2:1 and 2.40:1)

ALL the master primes cover 14-150 - BTW 12 MP is not really out yet, we called several houses and they don't have them. ( that is for another day)

here is the chart....it looks better if you follow the link as it came out pretty small here...

EDIT - Optimo Rouge 16-42 does cover 100% through the zoom range if it has been upgraded to second generation...

Great. thanks so much for posting this.
If anyone knows about the Masterprimes (I know the Ultraprimes are on the list), especially the new 12mm. thanks

Sorry are the epic-M a different sensor size then epic-x???

Also did you get a chance to test the red primes.

Thanks

all master primes cover perfectly...

Thanks Dino - very awesome!

Just checking - "FF" here refers to "full S35", right?

If RED are still planning on releasing an "Epic FF35" and "Scarlet FF35" (eg 35mm still full frame), future noobs may be a tad confused by the nomenclature?

the format in camera says 5K FF ( what that means exactly, you have to ask RED).

i will update this in the next few days...know that we chose the widest lenses in a set and if they cover, by default the others will cover for the most part. so idid not bother listing them.

12-1 as it is called as an abbreviation is the 24-290...it is in my chart. we agree with mark, although we got 45mm as safe not 40...but we were being conservative probably.

anghel shootin on it? or just at camtec for the test?

i worked with anghel at the beginning, his first red jobs, but got to busy to support him, but he is probably going to come back for some epic love...his 1st AC craig was at camtec while we were doing it and invited him over...i love those guys, so good at their jobs and easy going and know there stuff.

Thanks Dino, wow this is so helpful. Kinda underscores the point that Mark and Jared made on another thread ... basically that Ultra Primes could very well be the best all around lens for the Epic in terms of performance, speed, coverage, size, and price. Now where's that extra $100,000 I had laying around ..... :auto:

Thanks Mark, and Dino. I missed it sorry. I suppose 1/3 of a stop is nothing when shooting ISO800 or a little higher for exterior daytime, even if stopping down some.
