Hi Guys,

Cannot seem to find the thread anywhere but has anyone found a less expensive and trusted solution than the Switronix PTap for powering the Hyperedeck Shuttle?
My set up:

Scarlet X
Switronix V Mount Plate
GMP 160WH Batteries
Hyperdeck Shuttle2.

I remember Timur using the one from B&H and obviously it works but also remember there being a few ebay alternatives that users suggested so just wanted to know if anyone can clarify a cheaper one that works.
Also can anyone tell me how much your battery life would decrease when powering the Hyperdeck along with Scarlet?

Thanks in advance.

John.

Lot of discussion HERE on Epic forum - further in, they exchange info on D-tap alternatives...

FWIW I have powered my PIX recorder off the D-tap/V-mount since day one and its a great combo. Nice to not carry and maintain charges on 2 separate sets of batteries. I use 150wt V-bricks so can run combo all day on 3 of these.

Thanks guys.Anymore more info on your solution Peter,eBay says item has been removed or is not available?

Hey John ... I'm still using the Hyper deck shuttle without D-tap .. so thanks for the thread :)
But I have one question .. how do you mount the Hyper deck shuttle to the camera ..areyou using BM plate ?

Hi Raad,

I decided not to buy BM's cheeseplate as i believe it is actually heavier than the Hyperdeck itself.
I was going to go down the velcro route but i bought the Gini Rig cage for the Scarlet a while back and the HS fits perfectly into between the ribs on the cams dummy side.
You have to power the camera up first before you attach as you do not have access to the power and record button so you then have to use the record button on the front.
Also make sure you face the rubber side of the HS outwards as if you face inwards you sometimes push against the power/record button and power the camera down.

Hope this helps,

John.
