I have a small issue where I am trying to color correct a short 30-minute video, but it is a MOV file. Prores MOV file I believe! It's a hockey game and I am having the hardest time trying to pull out the detail in the surface of the ice. So. I was going to import the video into REDCine-X Pro, but I am not sure how to go about doing that. Can I be helped, please!? Thanks.

As I figured.
What would would be a good alternate? The MOV file USE to be R3D files, but that was when someone else was in my position. Now. I'm cleaning up!

The file is a .MOV file (QuickTime), and you're trying to improve the detail of the ice? What's type of QuickTime file is it? There's a lot of them -- different resolutions, different video standards, different aspect ratios.

What makes you believe the detail is there? It may be gone, especially if the original material is clipped (overexposed). Post a still and maybe we can judge better. If it's R3D, then one approach would be to use an R3D-capable color correction system, including Resolve, Baselight, or Pablo (to name 3). DPX files are also possible on many different devices.

It may be possible that the settings in RedCine-X Pro are not optimum. Do a search elsewhere on the forum and determine if maybe debayering and outputting the original R3D images again might yield better results.
