Hi.
I want to announce that the new Cinemartin Cinec encoder is on the corner coming with a major big upgrade.

The new release of the windows video converter will have vast new features, specially the file input formats it will support.
Almost any video input file format of this times it is supported.

Cinec 3.X adds support for Cineform, Sony XAVC, XAVC-S, RED files (.r3d), and 4k videos from snapdragon 800's series powered devices

Other features includes Motion Picture Adjustments (MPA) to change gamma, brightness, contrast and saturation of clips. New dual screen preview monitors with support for previewing MPA. Support for creation of alpha movies from pictures with alpha channel. Adding audio to seq of pictures, and more .. It comes with a second update for the h265 encoder (now a little more wider and faster).

This update will allow RED users to avoid invest in expensive hardware required in order to manage RED RAW files. They will be able to use Adobe, Avid, Vegas and so on with prores on Windows..
Customers will be able to edit anywhere, just by converting to a userfriendly format like dnxhd or prores. Cinec works also on labtops and tablets (surface pro 2) where you can work with e.g. A. Premiere.

Will it be available a mac version on the future?

Who uses windowz in post world?

We do (we left Apple in 2001) and a lot of other posthouses we work with, making or already made the change.
Apple lost a lot of ground in the last years, once folks realized, that they got more performance for the money out of PCs

Who uses windowz in post world?
People who can't wait 6 years to just get out of date hardware for no reason except misplaced brand loyalty.

It's nice to see someone supporting ProRes on Windows in spite of Apple.

The 3.X version still generates HUGE temporary files (2 times the RAW footage) ? That software fills my disks in no time. :/

Hi Benoit,
Sorry, buy why you said or talk about version 3.X when it is not available at this time ?
There is no one customer and no one user with Cinec 3.X. There's only a demo (prerelease) available.

Can you explain us a litle more on this ?

Cinec only used temporary files for encoding to h.265.
The are few exceptions, like converting from h264 to prores where you first need to encode to raw then the raw to prores.

As per hevc h265 Cinec 3.X saves around 50% of disk space needed for conversion to h265 compared to v3.0
