Hi Community,

During a shoot yesterday, the camera flew from waist height onto the asphalt, so far everything fits, only the cine lens with a lot of weight made the RF mount loose.

You notice a little play, the silver ring can be moved easily. You can also hear it.

My question: Can this ring be tightened? I have not found any screws.

Thanks for your help,
Julian

I can't speak for damage caused by physical trauma, but my first two Raptor brains (2021 white and feb 2022 black), both had the RF mounts constantly becoming naturally loose after 1-2 weeks of regular use.

until i ditched the white brain and got a fall 2022 brain, the problem was so pervasive it felt like one brain was always being repaired.
Red was sheepish in acknowledging the issue but always would tighten the mount and send it back, and covered it entirely under the warranty.

i'm still miffed about it, such a pain

Hi Morgan, thank you for your answer, i can well understand, such a pain. then we will probably contact the service

When a camera falls to the ground often parts of the bayonet get bent even when no visible damage can be seen. This may cause stuck lenses oran uneven sharpness over the frame. So you better get the alignment checked.
