Hi Guys, we've got a LMD-2450W and I'm looking at best practice to get it calibrated. I'm not comfortable calibrating to colour bars and pluges on an LCD (compared to a CRT) and then there is the issue of 601 versus 709 (we do a lot of SD work on the monitor, and a lot of HD work, so calibrating to match the SD CRT won't necessarily help much when it comes to 709.)

I've talked to local video engineering guys and they've recommended I go to Sony as apparently they have a Minolta setup especially for the LMD series.

Waiting to hear back from Sony on this. In the meantime any advice on other alternatives would be useful.

End goal is to have the LMD-2450 set up to satisfaction for 709/601 work in our viewing conditions, purely for HD (rec709) and SD (601) colour correction (not extensive grading, just broadcast colour correction for consistency and legals for HD delivery)

It's being fed by a AJA Kona LHe, which I am aware can load custom LUTS for it's downconversion feed or can be left on Auto, any recommendation on this would be greatly appreciated

The LMD series has internal 601 and 709 modes (we have a 2050W) - not sure how accurate they are, though, never bothered checking as we don't grade on it.

As an update to this I contacted my local Sony Rep and looks like they are going to come out and calibrate it for us, no charge, I'm fairly happy with that sort of customer service, good to see that even the big boys can provide great service.

Hey Craig, I work for a small production company just outside of NY, and we have the Sony LMD-2050W. We're looking for someone to calibrate it. Is there a number I can call to find a Sony rep in my area?
