Can someone explain how I bypass any colour metadata that sets the colour and white balance in redcine or crimson so I can get to the raw data.

If you want to see the raw image, disregarding the white balance/metadata you set in camera then hit the color button at the top left of the upper tool bar. You can't export images this way though. You can export linear images by leaving the gamma curve alone and exporting, you can get more latitude for grading by selecting REDLOG as your output gamma space.

Thanks, so there is no way of getting back to the pure raw image then as our Graders dont seem to be too impressed with redlog much though any other suggestions would be helpful.

Just courious.:innocent:
Why do you want raw export?
thanks,
agustin

Probably because he wants to grade his footage somewhere else other than Redcine, and wants maximum latitude to work with ie, as close to what the sensor originally captured?

How about using linear gamma, no color matrix, and 16bit TIFF export?
That would be the purest, rawest, and most storage demanding option, wouldn't it?

Exactly what we want to do. We do all our DI grading in Baselight. Any ideas of how we can achieve it?

Yes. Export to DPX using Redlog. Use an input LUT in Baselight that is set up as log to lin, black point of 0, white point of 1023, gamma 1.0. That should yield a very accurate rendition of the original raw image in linear light.
