So the unthinkable has happened. Computer crashed in the middle of an edit session causing the G drive to become corrupted and in accessible. This has happened to me before but never in the middle of a project like this. I am using Windows 10. In the past I had not been able to re access a corrupted drive even after rebuilding the partition unless I reformatted. I was this time able to run CHKDSK and it was able to make the drive accessible. But, now the folder with the files that were loaded into premiere are gone. There was another folder, not being used with files in it that are seemingly unharmed. Really strange. The drive is still full (only about 100gb of the 4tb drive is said to be free). The files might still be there, but hidden?

Anyways I am pretty sure we have multiple copies and are safe from ruining the project, but I do not have immediate access to them, and would like to know everyone's opinion but also favorite recovery software that's able to recover r3ds. I saw some older threads but wanted to see if anyone has any more up to date suggestions. Thank you!

*Update: Apparently the files were hidden on the disk, and a line of code was needed to bypass them being hidden. Found all the files, everythings good! I am still interested in people's choice of data recovery for r3ds!

This is kind of ironic in that just today on location we were using the camera to shoot some setups and the AC inadvertently formatted the mag with just a couple clips on it. No worries we quickly re shot the couple of takes we just did for insurance on a different Mag and kept the formatted one to test REDundead later. So I thought this would be a good time to see what REDundead is all about.
I have to say that if you fallow the instructions given and take your time to not mess anything up its pretty easy to use.
I hope I never have to use it in a "All IN" situation but at least by just going through the process once I feel that if something similar happened I would not worried as much.
REDUndead... Thank you RED once again for giving us a way to correct the knuckle head moves we all do now and then. Now all we have to do is figure out which take was better the couple on the formatted mag or the re shoots.
