So red items lose 80% value the moment they leave the shop? This is getting dangerously close to sony panasonic jvc type purchases :( 2nd hand value have suffered.. what happened to absolence absolete? After all the quad pro is 1950 usd ..

Hi.. if you mean the battery belt I think there might be an adapter :)

The quad battery module goes for 1950, but I'd be surprised if anyone have bought it for that.
It must have been the least sought for item ever, as it didn't get delivered at the same time as the Epic X's and close to everyone had to find alternate ways to power their cams.
When they arrived, they were kinda useless for most of us. When it doesn't have a D-tap or some other auxillary power solutions, it's not much more than extra weight for many of us.

I only know of Terry Verhaar who actually is glad to have one.
There are a couple strown around here, together with redmotes.

But I think this isn't really representative for resale value of other RED kit.
It just has a bit of unfortunate history and many more hitting the market than the practical demand asks for.

I see qhat you mean.. I was certainly shocked by the size of my epic just to put a battery.. side handle would have been a better inclusion than the quad pro and certainly cheaper.. the charm of the epic was partly its size..

Somehow the sidehandle is a more advanced piece of kit and costs the half. Go figure!

It is also a much more versatile piece of kit.

Cannot really see the cam without it.

Perhaps the hot swapping capability of the quad pro is a precise technology.. but I feel some accessories costs are also brand name prices

Well, there isn't alternatives to these piece of kit. And RED like many othershas to have most of their profits in the extras. Nothing wrong with that, BTW. It is a businessmodel. RED needs to make money. I prefer REd to stay in business.
