Thanks Martin & Curran. Sylvia you can alternatively use www.xe.com for calculating the rates as you know these days are constantly changing cannot fix a price in dollar. It's a great kit, non MX but can be upgraded for only $4000 as we entered Epic upgrade II. Peace, D.

If I did well the maths, I paid around $32.565 for the kit, am selling it for €16.000 and since the red one body went up dramatically, if you were to buy the same kit new, you could count on something around the $40.000 figure. To me this seems like a good deal, I wish I needed to buy a Red One right now myself!
 
I forgot to mention that with this serial number we went into Epic upgrade II meaning this camera is elligible to be upgraded at a discounted price.
 
Still here. Leaning more towards the long term rental option. Does nobody need Red Ones to make nice things with?

An MX upgrade costs full price for everyone, due at time of upgrade.

Any MX upgrade discount related to Stage 2 is applied to the invoice of the Epic-X when it ships. So, the discount applies to the Epic-X purchase, not the MX upgrade.
 
Hey Guys!! Come On! I am asking for 1200eur month rent. I usually rent it easily for 1800eur week. Is nobody on this planet shooting movies or looking at a bit of extra income renting in on in a short term basis?

Regarding selling, it would be subject to Currans and Reds blessing since this particular body entered Epic 2 (you know, not to be considered as "bad attitude" and so on...) but I am sure there would be no problem on either side. They are all cool people and I do not feel having abused their generosity if I sell my camera after so many nice movies were shot with it!

Anyhows... The thing is I need either a little extra monthly cashflow to pursue a major 3d advertisement space business or 16k capital to buy new 3d gear, displays and twin medium format cameras. Hasselblads with wide angle lenses to be more specific. I need 120 film stock, scanners, film recorders (to go from digital to analog), a little E6 processing machine for home, twin leica digital cameras (you know the ones that look abit like the Lumix ones) so any of that stuff could be taken as part exchange. Oh! and a small diesel car and a RIB+trailer if you happen to be near Portugal. I need a vehicle for sweden, too, ideally an old Chevrolet Suburban diesel so I can sleep in there when the mrs. goes mad. I bought a nice diesel heating system for my Chevrolet G10, but while I was in a job in the caribbean the police thought it was abandoned and send it to the breakers. (With my deflated boat, surfboards and film lighting inside, I guess that's life. Got a nice new board yesterday though :) nicer than the three old ones.

It seems these days there is not so much cash around, so I migh aswell post here what my christmas list, not just writing autobiographies or anything like that.

Anyhows... I am an underwater cinematographer and love my gear. I would not be happier with an Epic underwater, since the large housing gives it a nice stable feeling underwater and I let the assistaints do all the carrying outside the water anyway. If I could choose, I would prefer to keep Red Juan, but if someone wants to buy, now its a good time to make a good deal with me. Later on, after the 3d business gives fruits, I would replace the R1 body if it happened to sell now.

Thank you for reading. And pass the word: "There is a crazy dude trading Red Ones for Hasselblads" I am sure there are not many of us going back to the old film workflow right now. But if you saw some of the 3D stereo original pairs shot on Fuji film, cut with scissors and mounted with my own fingers and a bit of sticky tape. If you saw this, you would understand.

AND! If you are getting married, call me! I would certainly achieve the best possible format and results for making that day special.
