  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Atlas Mercury 1.5x Full Frame Anamorphics

The Mercury Series represents a bold new step forward in making professional anamorphic cinematography lenses more personal.

Full frame coverage, golden ratio focal lengths that also work well for Super 35 sensors, film camera compatibility, and a 1.5x anamorphic compression with enhanced Bokeh allow the Mercury lenses to be versatile and incredibly useful whether you’re delivering traditional widescreen formats, 1:1 square, or anything in between - Mercury will let you make images your way !

Hello Dan,
Nice to see you here again. Kudos for your lenses. I'm about to decide to buy your 42mm Mercury.
I wonder how did they shoot the "LA Summer" short to get that square frame?
Wich part of the VV sensor is covered in that particular aspect ratio?
Thanks for your input.

hi Patrick,

Cleon used the Red Raptor camera and turned the lens 90 degrees.

the SmallHD monitors will do a reverse squeeze (many custom options on the SmallHD) for onboard monitoring.

pretty cool right ?

I prefer to turn the camera body 90’ and keep the lens in normal orientation. I call this format “AtlasScope” and have a white paper on it if you want to read.
