  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ARe people still getting their upgrade e-mails?

I take that back. I just got my email . Epic-X #02773 shipping to Red now.
 
My birthday is on the 12th of july, so I'm hoping RED can send me a email for my Birthday. Crossing my fingers...
 
Just got my email. I'm still wary of the noise issue though. I can't see spending 10K on a camera that has more noise than my current one. Also have a project I don't want to switch cameras in the middle of a project.

That's a pragmatic approach. I've been renting for a month now while Red sort this out. The firmware upgrade was theoretically going to be out two weeks ago and even when it's out it sounds like all the post software will need to apply the new Red SDK to make the whole pipeline work (unless everything goes through RedCine)... still no news on a release date for the new firmware yet though.

For now you have a working, low-noise camera.

I had the same hope for mine (a few days ago), but I hope at least to get some update information here at RU soon -- how things have developed in the past two month -- since the last official "message" here.

BTW.: Yesterday I checked most of your clips and reels on your site. Really great work, Jon, it was a pleasure to watch! The New York Music documentary is just great.

When did you place your order? I think they started on the july orders today.

Thank you very much, I actually just changed a few things around on my reel this morning. 99% of the stuff on my site is RED with a little Phantom and a little c300.
 
I ordered in Nov'13, so it might take a while. I got the Epic in July '13. I was told to wait 90 days, before I can order the Dragon. So, a long story.
