Is the Apple Pro Res on Raven Still at 2K or has it been bumped to 4K

Raven, Scarlet-W, and Weapon Mg record ProRes (and Avid DNxHD) in 2k. Only the Woven/Forged Carbon Fiber Weapon models have the ASICs and power to record ProRes 4K

True.
Raven and Scarlet-W share these specs:
Apple ProRes 422 HQ up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 60 fps
Apple ProRes 422 up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 60 fps
Apple ProRes 422 LT up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 60 fps

Weapon Mg adds a couple of flavors:
Apple ProRes 4444 XQ up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 60 fps
Apple ProRes 4444 up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 60 fps
Apple ProRes 422 HQ up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 60 fps
Apple ProRes 422 up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 60 fps
Apple ProRes 422 LT up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 60 fps

For 4K, you need the horsepower of Weapon CF and/or Woven:
Apple ProRes 422 HQ up to 4K (4096 × 2160) and up to 29.97 fps
Apple ProRes 422 up to 4K (4096 × 2160) and up to 29.97 fps
Apple ProRes 422 LT up to 4K (4096 × 2160) and up to 29.97 fps
Apple ProRes 4444 XQ up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 120 fps
Apple ProRes 4444 up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 120 fps
Apple ProRes 422 HQ up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 120 fps
Apple ProRes 422 up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 120 fps
Apple ProRes 422 LT up to 2K (2048 × 1080) and up to 120 fps

According to Jarred's announcement, there will be an update that allows DNxHR, which by default is 2K and above. Therefore it would seem logical that 4K could be recorded internally, just in DNxHR, not ProRes... to all three DSMC2 camera bodies.

"Today, RED Digital Cinema and Avid announced that Avid DNxHR™ and Avid DNxHD® recording formats will be coming to RED’s DSMC2™ line of professional cameras – WEAPON, SCARLET-W and RED RAVEN. This addition brings yet another powerful and intuitive workflow option to professionals shooting on this latest generation of RED cameras. "

Or, are you saying that Scarlet-W and Raven will be capped at a max 2K for DNxHR, and only the Weapon can do 4K DNxHR?

I wouldn't bet the farm that anything other than a Carbon Fiber Weapon would be able to record any 4K non-REDCODE format. Now, or in the future. It's not the type of thing they can flick the switch on with a firmware update. There are hardware limitations.

RED has been vocal in the past about ProRes being an editorial format, not an acquisition format. With CF Weapons, you pay to be able to use whatever route you desire.

In other words, if they could put simultaneous 4K recording + REDCODE RAW in a $5,950 body.... They would be screaming the news from the rooftops as soon as they pulled it off.

From the wording you have quoted I am assuming DNxHD will be Raven, Scarlet-W and Mg with DNxHR being reserved for the upper end.

The wording is a bit ambiguous... but I'll "dare to dream" that the Scarlet-W will record 4K DNxHR... ;)

That said, DNxHD 175X 1920x1080 @ 23.98 runs at 176 Mb/sec. DNxHR HQX 4096x2160 @ 23.98 comes in at 746 Mb/sec. So, yeah, probably not going to be seeing that on the Scarlet-W or Raven.

But I'll be happy with whatever they come up with, since I'm 100% sure I'll link back to the R3D files for final color and delivery... Editing with a lower-resolution DNxHD or ProRes proxy will still work beautifully.
