  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

That's easy: RED. Yes, I'm serious (maybe not for stills, though).

But using only one type of light? One lens? One location? No, that is limiting.
 
A photoshop competitor has been a long time coming. It's not there yet for lots of reasons yet, but in the last 2 years Pixelmator has made some amazing strides. Depending on what you need to do, it could already be a photoshop replacement for some.

Final Cut Pro X is amazing, Motion is a great app, I'll have to deal with no 17inch notebooks when I finally have the money to upgrade but my current 17inch is holding out and I'm okay with the retina MBP.
Towers are due next year and they bring out a new phone every year, it's the reason their stock is at $629.

"Pro market" is a very subjective term.

Subjective yes, evidence of Apple abandoning the pro market? Not by a long shot.
I wasn't sold on Final Cut Pro X right off the bat, I had issues with it's performance and it forced me to re-think the way I edit movies but release after release it's gotten better for me and I just can't go back to what I was using before.
I'm unfamiliar with your FCP X experiences so I can't say anything on that issue but my observation is a lot of the criticism of Final Cut Pro X is hysterical and ignores the many updates which have been made to the program sometimes just assuming that the program can't do something rather then trying to figure out if it can.

Sure seems that way, except for that Tim Cook has publicly announced that Apple has not abandoned the pro market and that things are in the making (only problem is that it looks like a 2013 release - this will though hopefully mean that it's something amazing)

I don't think you make these statements unless you have something in the making?

Gotta agree with this! Cut a promo on it recently and had a blast. Still take issue with the lack OMF export and some other niggles, but I think the overall editing experience is better than Premiere or FCP7.
