  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anyone concerned?

Anyone scared to get the Body, but not the accessories needed to use properly the camera?
I heard stories about receiving the RED BODY but not the monitor, not the batteries, cables etc, just couple of weeks or months later,
It may be an issue to get the Scarlett, but that it will be fully usable only 2-3 months later, in terms of rentability, usability, it's a big deal.
What are your thoughts on that?

Maybe if you order the "KIT" with 2 batteries, 1 X 64GB... you're safer?
 
Well maybe not scared, but concerned. Still reading about Epic-X owners awaiting bits. I ordered my BOMB for my then-yet-to-be-announced Scarlet LAST Nov - received in August! In fairness RED has sped up the process considerably since, but I ordered my Scarlet the First Night and now hear of delays in, among other things, Side Handles. My configuration has no operation option if the camera arrives before the Handle, so I will be stuck. Unfortunately, Handle orders (as I understand) are independent on their delivery date vs. the camera. My only consolation/hope is RED will not start the meter running on my warranty period on a camera I cannot fire up till the Handle arrives!

As you say, maybe those who (not me) ordered the $14K "kit" will get their handle at the same time? Guess I would be pissed to have ordered my Handle first and have some later-ordering "Kit" purchaser get his handle before I did...

RED seems to be pretty fair on this stuff so I'm hoping for the best.

All the bits you need to turn it it on and shoot are readily available now. Others bits of kit to really make it shine are in various stages of back order. I would order everything you want NOW and at least get in line.
 
I have never been in a situation where I haven't known what was available when ordering for myself or others. Chat with your bomb rep and sort it out.
There are a lot of 3rd party solutions out there for whatever isn't in the box.
