Hi all,

i am trying since few days to understand how an Anamorphic picture is stretched in REDCINE-X .
i found the "Fit Width 2x" for my 2816x2304 picture in "Framing Control", added the settings in "Framing Presets"
and when i've tried to apply it again, it shows me then that the Source Resolution became 1408x1152 :

Does it happen to you too ?

Do we have to use only the quarter of the resolution,
before stretch it 2x, and finaly convert it to 1920x1080 (for example) ?

and in which way ?

Anyway we are far from the first CinemaScope target !

At Least it would be simpler to do this :
(even if i understand that algorithms become very capable)

I still don't really know how it works, but it works !
(maybe it's just for my health of thought).

I agree that for a final 1920x1080 format it will maybe not change a lot anyway,
and that each person in front of his computer will do its own way.

I was just asking myself what will become Anamorphic in digital world.
(I don't talk about the famous blue flare but about all the rest, and i am not a big fan of the "more, more, bigger, bigger" way of think)

Hope this is understable,
Best regards to all, waiting to read you,

Cheers

(it's not a real project, i don't have a producer behind me, i am working on Windows, i will probably test this on Mac soon)
