I run redundead and all it says is DONE!
but no good.
what am i missing.

anyone?
thanks

Big Lu.

follow the white paper instructions to a T and redundead works really well. You have to do the step by step perfectly in order for it to work. Also I think you have to have redline installed.

hope things are going well in Oxnard.

You need to run as a super-user, so use "sudo" ahead of the command.

...and a couple obvious things to point out. REDUNDEAD only works when you run it on the camera media, doesn't recover off other types of media. If the media has been erased with a secure format, you can't recover anything from it.

Not that there's a new version or anything, but do make sure you have the latest release for recovering from SSD media.

There is a good possibility that if it runs and simply just says done, that there is nothing it can find to recover. :(

And yeah, 'sudo' as Graeme points out.

When you do run it. Keep your eye on the terminal window and the folder or disk you are extracting the media to. When it is working you can see each file as it is being recovered.

sudo, baby, sudo....

Ok some progress now its asking me for a password. I do not have a password on this computer and clicking enter does not work.
Thanks guys
I need a little more help what am i missing now.

Yup, that'd be your user password on that mac.

Graeme

Thanks Graeme but I do not have a password on the Mac

It's probably a root password. The password you would need when you are logged in as root.
