Any chance that Red or a 3rd Party will make such an adapter ? or maybe a Split cable ( Lemo 2 or D-TAP for power + SDI for Video signal TO Multipin Lemo for EVF / LCD )

Do we know about futur accessories that will fit the multipin accessory port of the Komodo ?

Red did retroffiting before.... I will love to use my EVF or trusty 5" Touch Screen with the Komodo

Hi Thibaut,

I'm quite sure that the main problem here is power consumption. The EXT Port can deliver 0.5A max., and the RED Monitors draw "a bit more" amps. Besides that, who knows if the RED Monitor's video feed is an SDI signal? If it's a different signal you would need a converter which produces lag - and that's why Jarred said (about a year ago) that it's not worth the trouble. Fair enough, he was talking about an adapter for Komodo's top interface, but the powering problem remains. *sorry*

Thanks Thomas,

Looks like a dead end....but I would like to understand what would be the technical issue

Obviously, enough Power could be send from any V-mount Plate or battery, I'm not sure about Video but The Komodo outputs formats are numerous, that's why I was thinking about a custom split cable.

DSMC and DSMC2 monitors and EVF should be able to digest one of those video signals ...?
In this case monitors wouldn't be Touchscreens anymore.

I totally understand that everyone who has spent so much money into a camera system like DSMC1/2 would like to use their accessories with Komodo, too. "Obsolescence obsolete" was the slogan, I remember. But time's moving and technology evolves faster every year and is getting more affordable every year...who knows, maybe you can use the DSMC2 stuff via adapter on a DSMC3 - but I wouldn't count on that.

I'll certainly use KOMODO LINK, now that it is confirmed that it will also power the phone. In conjunction with an actual smartphone, this will be the affordable, lightweight and not-too-bad-daylight-viewable 6-6.5" touch screen.

Anyway, if I were you, I'd write a request to those third party manufacturers who already have made accessories for the DSMC2 pogo, due to licensing reasons. Nobody else would buy a "pogo-wiring-license" from RED just because of a few requests for a complicated/not-so-elegant adapter cable.
