OK, so we have a client that had a shoot yesterday and the Scarlet worked fine. They have another shoot tomorrow, and the Scarlet is now reporting "A serious error was detected during startup.". They have tried recording to the SSDs, and apparently no files are created. We've gotten them to reformat the SSDs, restore the system, correctly power down and power on the camera, eject the SSDs from within the in-camera menu, and it's still reporting this error. What, exactly, can be done now, without costing them the rest of their shoot?

DD.

Contact Red support immediately and start asking about other Scarlet owners in town with open schedules.

I am assuming they have tried several different SSD cards

Their shoot is at 09:00 tomorrow. RED open at 09:00 tomorrow.

They've only the SSDs we've supplied them.

When I've seen this before, if a firmware reinstall doesn't fix this; it's back to Red for repair...

I'd say the most solid bet is trying to source an alternative camera; where is the shoot taking place?

Any updates? Did you resolve the problem?

Fingers crossed :)

The firmware reinstall did not solve the problem, so the Scarlet has gone into RED for repair.

RED have very kindly given us a loan camera in the meantime, which we are extremely grateful for! :)

Scarlet needs two boards replacing; the ISP Board and the IOB Board -- a rather costly venture, but thankfully, the insurance is sorting it out.

Can we ask how much? Also, what do ISP and IOB stand for?

No indication about a cause? Or just an unlucky board failure?
