2.37 Matte for 6K

[BrendanLeahy]

Does anyone have a PNG for a 2.37 matte? I can only seem to find 2.35. Most of my shots were 6KWS, but a handful of pickups were full 6K.

Just make one in Photoshop

Why edit in 6K? Edit in 4K or HD and worry about the 2.39 matte for delivery. I have literally seen editors put cardboard on monitors before for the temporary crop.

Note that 2.37 is not a supported theatrical aspect ratio. I also know of no theater that can do more than 4K, period. In fact, the number of 4K projectors out there is smaller than you might think.

4K DCP spec for scope movies is 4096 x 1716 pixels, which works out to be 2.3869463 : 1.

Here is a link to a template pack with all the templates you'd ever need.

These are in 1080, though. Not sure if you're delivering HD or higher res than that.

Let me know if you need a 4K version of the 2:37 and I'll make you one.

Enjoy,
