I am a nature photographer looking to expand my business into hd video. The various versions of Scarlet are looking like the best option, although I'm still deciding there (predict it'll be around 8 months or longer before I make a purchase). I hope that I'll be able to afford the S35 version, but who knows at this point. Does anyone know what sorts of 2/3 lenses Red will have available? Anyone know about web sites good to look at for other lenses that one would be able to mount on Scarlet 2/3. Zooms capable of getting close images of wildlife is my primary concern. Although I've been doing interviews with short lenses on my 5d MkII.

BTW, I can definitely see shortcomings in the 5d II for video, but it convinced me that I do want to go into video. I was worried about all this talk that photographers would need to diversify until I started playing with the 5dII. Now I know that I'll enjoy the diversification.

Well red has announced mini-primes ranging from 6.5mm to 75mm. Since you're not using it for as cinematic application there is also a wide array of ENG glass from fujinon and the like. I think there's a fujinon 20x for $2k. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/231972-REG/Fujinon_A20X8_6BRM_A20x8_6BRM_2_3_20_1_ENG_EFP.html

I can't vouch for its quality but it's relatively fast staying at f1.8 up to 115mm and f2.7 at 172mm( and considering the crop factor of 2.5 from s35 and 4 from ff35 it is a beastly telephoto.)

Also wondering how mounting EF lenses I have would work, basically it would cover the long end well. How hard would it be to change from an EF compatible lens mount, as the wide end would definitely require switichin away from EF lenses?

If you are a 'tog looking to do both types of shooting, consider the s35 or FF35 for the best use of your EF lenses.

I definitely like the looks of the S35 better. However, I am worried that the combined cost of the camera and a computer capable of editing those files in Premeire Pro would kill me. The idea of recording 5k footage makes me drool though.
