Hi,

we have recorded 24 bit sound on our REDONE through a Sound Devices 422 mixer with good results. On further inspection when checking the audiofiles we transcoded with finalcut into Prores 422 HQ in FCP the sound read as 16 bit files.

- Looked at all the settings in FCP and couldn´ t figure anything out...

Anyone?

Fred

I don't know if the prores format prescribes an audio format like DVCProHD does. If you're transcoding using compressor you can specify the bit depth of your audio, but the log and transfer window in FCP doesn't offer much control.

Thanks Alex,

Understand.

Will try transcoding into prores through COMPRESSOR as they seem to have more accurate settings.
