Since the resolutions on Scarlet are 1.9:1 aspect ratio (with the exception of 4K HD, 16:9) is there a way to display a 16:9 reticule in the viewfinder that accounts for having the image scaled to fit vertical on a 16:9 aspect frame, or in other words show the area on left and right frame edge that would be cropped?

Issue is director/camera operator often switches between shooting base frame rates at 4K HD and over cranked frame rates windowed down to 3K/2K and is very concerned about frame edges.

Could you set the Frame Guides to 16:9? I assume they would be on the very edge in 4KHD mode but in the windowed 2K/3K mode you'd see lines where the crop would appear.

Correct: to visualize a 16:9 extraction (crop) from a 1.9 aspect (5K,4K,3K,2K) recording, set the FRAME GUIDE to 16:9....

When you choose 4K HD as the record resolution, that guide will be at your picture edges, but on the other resolutions you'll see it indicate where the left and right edges should be cropped....

SETTINGS / DISPLAY / FRAME FRAME GUIDE - set SIZE to 16:9
