Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Red's sensors come close enough. But, I think that if anyone is going to make cameras that exceed the DR of the Alexa 35, it will be Pentax. Why? Because I like to think outside the box, and they are the only company, I think, that can easily do it. And that does not entail that they will make...
From what I have seen, the new high res sensors on the latest iPhones don't produce images that can enlarge well. Even some big sensors do not have good image fidelity, such as the one in the A7S III. It's not nice. Neither is the A9's sensor. Image quality is not an easy business.
Overall I get your point. But this sounds like you're asking for something that can't exist. There's only so much resolution that you're going to get from any such system. The Leica Q has a lens matched to its sensor, and yet it still has aberrations wide-open. So, matching a lens to a sensor is...
I wonder what the focus would be with such a sensor - DR or resolution? DR is already amazing with the newest sensors, but you could go a bit more with more surface area to work with. Or just stay with current DR and give 12-14K of resolution. Of course this is all academic, but it's fun to...
Touchscreens in cars are stupid. The reason why cars have them is because they are cheap. Thankfully, some manufacturers are going to ditch them. But they should have never been implemented.

What's the highest resolution of these files? Some of these examples look sub-HD. Can you specify 4K etc?
I can imagine entire fan films being made with this tech. I an also imagine that a lot of gamers are really annoyed that GPU prices are going to remain high indefinitely. First it was...
It looks cool, at least. But the VF is in the wrong position. It should be in the far corner.

That's a cool channel. And I love his thumbnails. He's not wrong about old cameras - a lot of them, like the Epic, are still terrific options today in 2024.
The Fuji X-Trans filter still has the same problems as the conventional Bayer filter: too many green pixels, not enough blue ones.
That begs the question! A camera is not the human eye - or the eye of any animal - and the human eye cannot be translated mechanically. It needs a brain and a mind to function.
It seems very faulty to me. Like, they weren't thinking straight.
Kind of like f/- stops on SLR lenses, instead of T stops. Big mistake - although that doesn't matter now.
The Bayer filter, in principle, is a terrific idea. A hidden feature is that it acts as data compression... of a kind. The problem with almost all Bayer filters is that there is a green bias. That's a huge problem that I'm surprised still exists.
In fact, even if all three primaries were...
