Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi Red Team.
Since we need to do cropping on FF5K Epic footage to make 16x9, in Redcine-X I will use the "Fit Height".
If I also check the "Lock Aspect Ratio", the Source Resolution goes to some improbable figure. See attached screenshots.
It does not seem to affect the output.
Cheers,
Harry
Hi Red Team...
Not sure if this has been a request already.
I'm sure the Pro IO module is almost done, and perhaps this request cannot be honored due to technical limitations or as a result of finished hardware.
But...
Could you add format options to the HD-SDI outputs, for example, to do 23.98...
Attention Red Team, ET, Wooden Camera, Action Products, JC Camera Systems...
Can someone make a "dummy plate", molded plastic with captive screws, to cover the naked back of my Epic?
It CAN'T be good to have 76 tiny metal connectors naked to the elements, as well as the plethora of metal things...
I'm not complaining, so I'm not posting this under "complaints"... ;)
I do have a concern and two questions regarding this concern.
Having had a few days under my belt with my Epic-X, I have noticed that the Lemo power connector wiggles around to a surprising, and somewhat alarming degree. It's...
I'm no fanboy, but I have to give credit to Red for being generous in giving us upgraded camera features at no charge.
As some of you know, I own lots of cameras and related gear.
I just got an email from the company that makes one of my cameras; a camera that I like very much from a company...
Sorry if this has been discussed. I did a search and could find nothing.
When I format an SSD on a Red MX, nothing happens for what seems like MANY seconds after I hit the "format" button. Meaning, I press the button, and the menu goes away as if I have hit the "cancel" button. The buttons will...
Thinning my collection of light meters. This is an incident meter with a dome diffuser that also includes a rare 10 degree spot attachment. Very useful and compact.

Hi again Red Team.
Will there be a protective plate to cover the v-lock style connector on the back of Epic (or the back of the last module used)?
Just watching Gibby's/ Ketch's/ Joseph's video of M8 in action and was thinking how it might be smart to protect the delicate connectors especially...
Hey Red Team...
Is the touchscreen the main way to interface with menus etc.?
Is there a lock button, or can the touch be disabled? Seems like an easy thing to bump or have extra hands grabbing and changing parameters, etc. accidentally.
Just a thought...

Harry
Hey there...
I have one left. It's the older ELPAC 12 volt, 8.4 amp power supply. It's not suitable for cameras with the MX upgrade (part of the upgrade was a new 15 volt power supply which is why I had several extras; this is the last one)
Anyone out there with a non-MX camera who needs another...
Anyone care to chime in? It's been discussed on this forum before, but I thought it might be nice to have it on one thread.
When I started in the film business (20 plus years ago), it was an intriguing combination of craft, art, and business. Sometimes now it seems like a monkeyf**k of hobbyist...
I have three of them, plus chargers, cables, etc.
The Focus Enhancements batteries they shipped with are pretty much kaput, but I have cables that let you power them from an Anton Bauer P-Tap, plus of course a power supply.
I used them exclusively with my HDX-900 cameras, but they work with a...
I think this completes Jim Jannard's takeover:

I have a client for whom we made DNxHD files using my Redrocket. Although I have successfully done this many times for others, they are getting strange error messages. I have attached the screen grabs they sent.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Harry
Hi guys...
I've been faithfully using Rocketcine X with my Maxx/Portable Red Rocket setup, and it's great. I love the simplicity of the layout and the reliability. I have never had a render fail or any corrupt footage, and i have had these issues with previous builds of Redcine X.
I'm anxious to...
I have a used Arriflex LMB-4A mattebox "shade". It's the plastic part that cuts light from the lens and/or the filters in the mattebox.
It was damaged on a job and I replaced it with a new one from Arri. There is a small chip off the corner and a small crack. Probably easily repaired with some...
