Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Hey, everybody, just a little puzzled after reading that "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" used the Sony Venice 2 for 8K production and then opted for the FX3 for lightweight camera work for things like the bicycle scenes in the town. The point of question is that if a lightweight camera was needed for...
With that test, I wonder how the results would look after a nice round of Neat Video to denoise and clean up the images. For many, this is the workflow that goes into cinematic feature films on digital and why there are so many digital grain plugin options. On my feature film, "The...
See how the URSA Cine 17K is and if that might work for you, it's supposed to be coming out in the coming months. There's no doubt that RED should be working on the Medium Format field and there is most likely a camera coming to suit this new level of camera but there's been no word yet on when...
The inverse has also been true to gently shave an adapter with sand paper to be thinner if that is what is needed. I would research the topic more before committing to any modifications of your adapter. I don't have the 28mm 2.8 myself but if you are using a follow focus you could always just...
I wouldn't think so as the adapters would click in elsewhere. However, like my post above, it's been a bit since I dabbled with my Contax lenses, I've been playing with Nikon and Minoltas of late. I would say the best option is to try an adapter and see if there's any wobble or play. If you were...
Hey, everybody, thought this was interesting as it seems to be an inexpensive clone of the Zeiss Biotar 75mm 1.5!
https://photorumors.com/2024/09/25/ttartisan-75mm-f-1-5-swirly-bokeh-lens-officially-announced/
I don't mind clone lenses, especially if they can do them in enough volume to cut...
Well, not getting a Canon R5C then. If there was one Canon camera we were considering for Babs Do Studios it was the R5C. Guess the only RF mount cameras we'll have are RED cameras.
Yikes! I would definitely get that looked at or just simply return it and try another one. If the right side doesn't show anything then that must mean something has shifted internally or maybe the sensor filtration was applied just slightly off? Not sure but, yeah, send it in or return it and if...
I want new media just as much as everybody else and as we know from a previous statement by Jarred, the mixed software environments for each camera platform can make things difficult to go back. However, in that sense it isn't much different then going back and remastering an old videogame, just...
I've been wondering if we might see Panasonic buy Arri at this point, especially after the Arri Log on the Panasonic GH7. Load that up into an 8K Panasonic S-series, EVA-2, or new Varicam and watch the sales. Sony has a comprehensive production path across budget ranges, a move like that from...
That's what is both difficult and exciting about Las Vegas and the state of Nevada, there are no film studios and what there is are a bunch of small shops, production companies, and rental houses, enough to do something bigger than most areas in the country but more or less a "near zero"...
Hey, everybody, so I've been looking around at additional lens options as, for those who don't know, we have a film studio development for Las Vegas we are trying to get off the ground, www.BabsDoStudios.com, and even though we have some nice options picked out for our business plan, being a big...
Just like the Panasonic GH7 having ARRI Log3C to look like an Arri Alexa, this should be interesting for color science preferences going forward if built-in transformative LUTs become the norm in cameras.
I'm surprised they still haven't done 8K video, the upcoming Insta360 Ace Pro 2 action cameras are rumored to have 8K and Samsung has been dancing around iPhones with 8K for a good long while now.
Well, maybe a nice cinematic 8K vs. 12K comparison video could be in the cards? The base rules would be max resolution at all times with the only exception to be an 8K delivery due to streaming limits. Other than that, no lower resolution slow-mo or overuse of super close macro shots, just...
There is the odd shot in this test that doesn't have a 12K comparison shot but in any case, the switch to 12K is very noticeable. The other settings like F-stops, ISO, etc. aren't listed so that may have an affect as well. I wouldn't mind seeing more tests like this, a lot of URSA 12K stuff is...
Hi, everybody, I just saw this Youtube camera test and it's really incredible nobody else has done a nice comparison like this:
This test shows a great detail difference between the 8K of the Nikon Z8 and the URSA 12K at 12K. Granted, the 12K has been delivered as 8K but the detail difference...
Looking at some of the projects that have filmed on the Monstro, I don't think you would ever have to worry about much, it's a really great camera. I've been eyeing the used ones too but with the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K and 17K around the corner, I'm not leaping on anything else.
The 15mm Macro was a favorite to use on our feature film! So sharp and useful that it proved to be a worthy choice over the Rokinon Cine DS 14mm 2.8 we could have gone with (which is still very nice and we got one later). I was so sad that our 15mm macro took a drop and cracked during a cleaning...
